Eleo Embarks on an Exciting Journey within Yanmar's New Electrification Unit
As of April 2025, Eleo will embark on a new chapter as an integral part of Yanmar's newly created global Electrification Unit, as officialy announced today. This strategic move will position Eleo as a pivotal driver of innovation within Yanmar, focusing on high-performance batteries, particularly for off-highway applications.

In recent years, Yanmar has heavily invested in research and development to establish itself as a leader in zero-emission technologies. The soon-to-be-launched Electrification Unit will operate with strategic autonomy, enabling agile decision-making and innovation in electric machinery, e-powertrains, and battery systems. Operating on a global scale, the unit will ensure worldwide reach and localized expertise.
Eleo will continue working from its location at the Automotive Campus in Helmond under its own brand name. As an integral part of the new Electrification Unit, Eleo will be able to leverage the Unit’s extensive network of teams and resources and thereby further strengthen its offering in batteries for off-highway applications.
Bas Verkaik, CEO and Co-founder: "Around 3 years after we welcomed Yanmar as our majority shareholder, it is exciting that we will embark on a new chapter with them for Eleo. With Yanmar’s increasing support, we will be able to make an even greater impact on the electrification of the off-highway industry worldwide."
The new Electrification Unit will officially launch in its new form this April and underscores the shared ambition of both Yanmar and Eleo to drive the future of sustainable off-highway applications.
